About us and our education philosphy
Our group, which includes wildlife rehabbers, biologists, and former wildlife operators, strive to provide wildlife removal education that is both effective, and compassionate
toward our fellow creatures. We provide hands-on field training and classroom education regarding humane wildlife removal methodologies. We also work on advocacy for better, more humane-centric laws
amongst state wildlife agencies. Our goal is to create better standards for wildlife control practice, and enlighten the both critter businesses and the public regarding superior wildlife control
techniques. Empower people to make smart choices when dealing with wildlife conflicts, and they will respond!
Company training
We are dedicated primarily to educating professional pest control companies / nuisance wildlife control operators
about humane wildlife removal practices, through direct outreach campaigns and training. Many professionals do want to treat the animals humanely - they just lack the knowledge to do so. In short,
we contact wildlife removal and pest control companies on a daily basis, offering training that we believe increases customer satisfaction, and ultimately the reputation of the business. Yes, humane wildlife
removal practices can result in higher profits. We believe this is the bulk of customer demand, and the direction in which the wildlife control industry is headed. We offer hands-on field training in
multiple US locations, and in some cases we will travel to your city for the (tax deductible) cost of transportation and lodging during the training period. We also provide classroom education at
various trade shows and industry seminars. Our training is approved by most state agriculture agencies as qualifying for continuing education training credits.
Classroom presentations
On occasion we provide classroom presentations for ages K-12. We focus on fun, interactive presentations to local schools, children's clubs, and other organizations to promote awareness of wildlife and its important role in our ecosystem.
Wild animals included. We stress the importance of conservation and compassion toward the wildlife in our shared urban habitat. If you would like to schedule a presentation, please contact us.
Public education
Through this website, the information on it, and the local resources posted here, we strive to educate the general public about how to make the smartest choices for resolving wildlife
conflicts. In most cases, the most humane approach is also the most effective one. We also encourage readers to write to us about wildlife concerns. We are happy to consult about humane
ways to resolve wildlife conflicts. If an email or two from us can save an animal from suffering, it's WELL worth our time!
P.E.T.
We have developed an educational tool that we promote, which we call P.E.T. - Treat an unwanted wild animal with the
same compassion you would treat a pet, and use:
Prevention - Seal your house shut to keep animals out, and eliminate attractive features
Exclusion - Remove critters with one-way doors and funnels instead of cage traps
Tolerance - In many cases, you don't need to interfere with a wild animal at all
